AEH Antonio Eduardo Henriques Madeira 10YO Verdelho Medium Dry 0.5L

Product information "AEH Antonio Eduardo Henriques Madeira 10YO Verdelho Medium Dry 0.5L"

In 1850, João Gonçalves Henriques founded the company Henriques & Henriques on the island of Madeira. After his death, his three sons were to take over the business. Two of the brothers (João de Belém and Antonio Eduardo) made a bet: whoever married first would have to forfeit their inheritance. Antonio Eduardo lost the bet and subsequently founded an independent Madeira wine company under his own name – AEH – which proved successful. After his death, Henriques & Henriques acquired Antonio Eduardo's AEH wines and took over the brand. This classic, semi-dry Madeira is made from the Verdelho grape variety and aged for ten years in selected oak barrels. It displays an intense amber color with golden and greenish reflections. It is intensely aromatic on the nose, with complex aromas of dried fruit (especially raisins), honey, and aged wood. On the palate, it reveals a well-balanced body with a slight acidity, is fresh and lively, and offers the connoisseur a long finish. AEH Antonio Eduardo Henriques Madeira 10YO Verdelho Medium Dry won a gold medal at the 2022 IWC (International Wine Challenge).
