Whisky/Whiskey
Whisky – the water of life! In fact, it is still unclear whether whisky originated in Scotland or Ireland. What is certain is that, for these two countries and others within the EU, precise criteria have been laid down for the production of whisky. These include, amongst other things, an alcohol content of at least 40 per cent and a maturation period of at least three years in wooden casks for the distillate to be allowed to be called whisky. Irish and Scottish emigrants brought the art of whisky-making to North America and Canada. Consequently, alongside whisky from Scotland and Ireland – and now also from many other European countries – there is American whisky, bourbon and rye. Even Japan produces highly regarded whiskies. The range of whisk[e]y is enormous, and every week new producers around the world begin making whisky. The key factors in producing this superb ‘water of life’ are grain, water, production methods, cask maturation and, last but not least, the art of distilling.
Abducted Malt Whiskey 0.7L -GB-
A pure malt spirit was transported from Scotland to Jerez de la Frontera in Spain, where it matured for seven years in select American oak casks that previously held exquisite Oloroso, Amontillado, and Pedro Ximenez sherries. The casks were aged using the "criaderas and soleras" system, a maturation and blending process also employed in sherry production. The otherworldly flavor profile of this unique malt whisky is clearly due to the combination of the three different sherry cask maturations, which impart a complex personality and unusual depth to this whisky. Its color is a clear, light amber with golden reflections. On the nose, it offers wonderfully rounded aromas with creamy notes, resulting in great smoothness and a balanced, delicate harmony. On the palate, this exceptional malt whisky reveals itself as powerful with plenty of personality and a lovely spicy note. Its finish is very smooth and elegant. Abducted Malt Whisky is produced in a limited annual production of only 715 bottles. Best enjoyed with a splash of mineral water, soda, or neat with ice.
