Island Signature Collection Tierra Madre – a tribute to Mother Nature – reflects Guatemala's unique and excellent rum tradition. This region is particularly well-suited for sugarcane cultivation, with a temperate climate and volcanic soils that impart a perfect balance of elegance and tonality to the sugarcane juices. Aging in oak barrels at high altitudes results in a slow maturation of the spirit, making Tierra Madre a superb rum: very well-balanced, fruity with delicate notes of honey and a touch of wood. The word "Amber" refers to the dark amber color of this premium rum, a blend of several excellent local rums that have matured for up to eight years under ideal island conditions. Turquoise Bay Amber Rum gets its color and complex aromas from extended aging in oak barrels, which make it pleasantly smooth, harmonious, and slightly creamy.
