Dalva Porto 50 Anos is the result of a perfect blend of various high-quality wines, aged in casks for different periods. Stocks of very old wines, combined with expert knowledge, have resulted in a remarkable port wine of outstanding complexity and refinement. The result is a port wine with pronounced aromas, showcasing the profile of a 50-year-old port and reflecting the historical heritage of the House of C. da Silva. It possesses a beautiful amber color with a golden rim and greenish reflections. On the nose, fruity aromas emerge first, especially plums and dried figs, roasted almonds, with a spicy curry note. This organic port celebrates ecological sustainability, from the grapes used to the winemaking process. With meticulous care, an exceptional port has been crafted from a single batch of grapes. This Pure Vintage 2019 is made from traditional red Douro grape varieties – predominantly Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Sousão – grown at an altitude of approximately 400 meters in the upper Douro. It displays a deep ruby-red color with beautiful aromas of cherries and ripe blackcurrants on the nose, combined with minty and herbal notes. Dalva Rosé Port is produced using the same traditional methods and grapes as Ruby Port, except that the fermentation of the must is interrupted by the addition of a wine distillate, thus preserving some residual sweetness. However, the Rosé Port is only exposed to the grape skins for a limited time, which gives it its beautiful rosé color. This intensely fruity port reveals its sweet side on the palate, well-balanced by a touch of acidity. Delicious notes of berries like strawberries and raspberries tantalize the palate, accompanied by a hint of florals. It is reminiscent of cherries, honey, and even grapefruit.
