Distillerie Des Menhirs

The Distillerie des Menhirs was founded in Brittany in 2005 and specialises in the production of Breton whisky and cider. The distillery combines regional traditions with modern techniques and uses Breton barley and pure spring water from the region for its products. Particularly noteworthy is the whisky, which matures in oak casks and develops its complex flavours through a double-distillation process.

The distillery is committed to sustainability and supports regional agriculture. During its guided tours and tastings, visitors can experience the production process first-hand and sample a wide range of products.

Thanks to its innovative production methods and the blend of tradition and modernity, the Distillerie des Menhirs has established itself as one of Brittany’s best-known distilleries.

Lambig de Bretagne is a cider eau-de-vie from the Distillerie des Menhirs in the small Brittany village of Plomelin. After distillation, it matures for three years in oak barrels. It is the result of careful selection and blending. Traditionally, Lambig was an eau-de-vie produced by farmers for their own consumption and therefore not intended for sale. It wasn't until 1986 that Lambig was permitted for sale, allowing connoisseurs outside of Brittany to enjoy the wonderful Lambig de Bretagne. Its relatively short maturation period results in a robust and fresh character. The aroma and flavor reveal intense notes of wonderfully fresh, fruity apples. Subtle hints of oak round out the taste experience. Lambig de Bretagne is often enjoyed as a digestif after a meal. However, it also makes a wonderful aperitif on ice or mixed with a fruity blackcurrant liqueur.

Lambig de Bretagne Hors d'Âge comes from the renowned Distillerie des Menhirs in the small village of Plomelin in the Finistère department of Brittany. For this cider-based eau-de-vie, the finest and most exquisite eaux-de-vie are selected with the utmost care and aged for many years in small casks of fine oak. These are then masterfully blended. The word Lambig derives from the French word "alambic," meaning still. Traditionally, Lambig was produced in rural Brittany for personal consumption. It wasn't until 1986 that Lambig began being produced for sale. Lambig de Bretagne Hors d'Âge delights the palate with rich tannins and wonderful notes of oak and spice. Connoisseurs classically enjoy Lambig de Bretagne as a digestif after a meal.
