Calvados
Traditional French Calvados is an amber-coloured apple brandy from Normandy. The growing region for Calvados apples and their origin are strictly regulated and are therefore designated by the abbreviation AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée). The apple trees in the green countryside of Normandy, with its mild winters and temperate summers, first exude the beguiling scent of apple blossom. This is followed by the scent of ripe apples and, finally, the aromas that develop as the Calvados matures. Freshly harvested apples are crushed without any additives. After natural fermentation lasting 6 to 8 weeks, cidre (apple wine) is produced. This is double-distilled in stills and matured for at least 2 years in oak casks. The length of the ageing process and the blender’s expertise determine the harmonious flavour of the Calvados.

Calvados Morin 10YO 0.7L
The story of Calvados and the Morin family began in 1889 in the small village of Haye de Calleville in the Risle Valley of Normandy. Pierre Morin succeeded his father and moved the Morin Calvados house first to Brionne and then to Ivry-la-Bataille, a small town in the Eure Valley. Over 200 different apple varieties, sourced from the oldest and most productive trees in the region, can be used to make cider, resulting in a truly unique Calvados. Calvados Morin 10 Year Old is distilled in a column still and then aged for at least ten years in Limousin oak barrels in the historic facilities of the Distillerie de Thélème: a unique establishment with long tunnels driven deep into the chalk hills of the Eure Valley, creating extensive underground cellars. Calvados Morin 10YO reveals an intense golden-yellow color and surprises the nose with a fresh aroma of tarte Tatin, rounded off by light notes of coffee and vanilla. On the palate, it is smooth with a long, gentle, and warm finish. Perfect on ice as an aperitif or at the end of a meal as a digestif.
