Barbers Gin
Until 1745, surgeons and barbers still worked together. However, in 1745, King George II of Great Britain separated the two professions, with the result that barbers were henceforth responsible only for haircuts, styling and shaving. Despite this separation, many barbers retained a particular practice that had originally stemmed from medical practice: the use of gin as a shaving lotion. This alcoholic drink, which was popular at the time, found its way into the salons of well-known barbers, lending their services a refreshing quality and a pleasant aroma.
With its unique organoleptic properties and traditional production process, Barber’s Gin embodies the quintessential English craftsmanship of that era. Produced in London using artisanal techniques and distilled in classic stills, it is characterised by freshness and smoothness on the nose, as well as a dry note on the palate. The distinctive juniper flavour is enhanced by other selected botanicals: juniper from Croatia, coriander from Morocco, thyme from Spain and angelica from France – nothing else.
