Monymusk
Monymusk is one of Jamaica’s oldest and most renowned rum distilleries, dating back to 1755. The Monymusk Plantation was founded in Clarendon Parish and is now part of National Rums of Jamaica Ltd. This long tradition and experience in sugarcane processing and rum production have made Monymusk one of Jamaica’s best-known brands.
The distillery is distinguished by its use of both column still and pot still methods to develop the unique character of its rums. This production technique combines modern processes with traditional methods based on the centuries-old practices that originated on the island.
Monymusk rums are aged in special oak casks and absorb the tropical warmth and humidity of Jamaica, giving the rums a deep, complex flavour profile. The Clarendon Distillery is particularly renowned for its ability to produce authentic Jamaican rums with a unique combination of sweetness, fruitiness and a light, spicy finish.
Through a combination of experience, traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques, Monymusk has established a firm foothold in the international spirits market and is a true symbol of the Jamaican rum tradition.
