The Monymusk Plantation sugar factory was founded in Jamaica in 1755. Today, Monymusk Plantation rums are produced under the umbrella of National Rums of Jamaica Ltd. This promising Monymusk Plantation Classic Gold 5YO Rum is a fine blend of premium rums distilled in both column and pot stills by the Clarendon Distillery. After distillation, this distinctive spirit matured for five years in specially selected, charred American oak barrels under the tropical Jamaican sun. Classic Gold 5YO Rum displays a dark amber color and reveals very complex aromas to the nose with beautiful notes of molasses, brown sugar, plums, and bitter cocoa. On the palate, it is wonderfully flavorful, smooth, and sweet. Its medium body exudes an intense, aromatic interplay of molasses and brown sugar, leading into an elegant, bitter finish.
