Ariki
In 1986, whilst on a cycling tour of Tahiti, Marc Jones discovered the small Ava Tea distillery with its copper stills. Fascinated by the art of distillation and the use of fresh, local fruits such as guavas, he learnt from the former diplomat Bernard Leger how to preserve the natural fruit flavours in spirits. This experience led Marc, together with a partner, to found the company Tahitian Import Export (T.I.E.), which initially began by exporting Tahitian vanilla pods to North America. He could not shake off the dream of having his own distillery, and after numerous experiments, he was finally able to construct his own still. Today, the T.I.E. distillery produces a wide range of renowned spirits and liqueurs, in particular rum made from unique varieties of sugar cane grown on the nearby island of Taha’a, which is famous for its sugar cane and vanilla.

Ariki Black Rum 0.7L
Ariki Black Rhum is a premium rum from Tahiti, a paradisiacal archipelago in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, whose culture remains deeply influenced by the traditions of its Maohi ancestors. Life in Tahiti is lived in harmony with nature and governed by the concept of Mana, a spiritual symbol of wisdom, strength, and beauty. In keeping with this, the rum bears the name Ariki, which refers to a supreme chief and symbolizes prestige and authority. The base of Ariki Black Rhum is the locally harvested, sweet juice of Otahiti sugarcane, which is distilled in a column still after fermentation. The rum then matures in ex-bourbon barrels in Tahiti's tropical climate, where modern technology is combined with traditional, artisanal distillation techniques. On the nose, it unfolds captivating aromas of intense sugarcane, accompanied by a pleasant lightness. On the palate, Ariki Black Rhum presents itself as clear and full-bodied, with harmonious notes and a subtle hint of oak wood that gives the distillate depth and elegance.

Ariki Blanc Rhum 0.7L
Ariki Blanc Rhum is made from fresh sugarcane juice grown exclusively on the Polynesian island of Tahaa and pressed immediately after harvesting. The sugarcane grows there in a particularly fertile, tropical environment, resulting in a pronounced aromatic intensity. The extracted juice is then transported to the island of Tahiti, where gentle distillation takes place in a modern double column still. This process gives the rum remarkable purity and preserves the natural aromas of the sugarcane. On the nose, Ariki Blanc displays a clear, fresh character with light floral and fruity notes. On the palate, it is soft and balanced, with a subtle sweetness and delicate herbal accents that clearly indicate its origin from pure sugarcane juice. The finish is light, clean, and pleasantly aromatic. Ariki Blanc is excellent enjoyed neat on the rocks, but also demonstrates great expressiveness as a base for sophisticated cocktails. It combines typical agricole freshness with Polynesian terroir and artisanal distillation to create an authentic, modern rum profile.

Ariki White Rum 0.7L
The premium Ariki White Rhum is the expressive counterpart to the Ariki Black Rhum and, like it, originates from the paradisiacal island of Tahiti. Life in Tahiti is characterized by harmony with nature and is governed by the concept of Mana, a spiritual symbol of wisdom, dignity, and beauty. The island's culture is reflected in its openness, warmth, and deep connection to the land and sea. This rum is named after Ariki, the tribal chief who embodies authority, prestige, and leadership and is depicted on the label. Ariki White Rhum is produced from the sweet juice of local Otahiti sugarcane, processed immediately after harvesting. Distillation takes place in a column still, combining modern technology with traditional artisanal distillation techniques, followed by a short resting period for harmonization. On the nose and palate, this premium White Rhum is smooth, balanced, and pleasantly sweet with a light body and refreshingly delicate aromas. Its clean, elegant style captures the distinctive taste of Tahiti, making it an ideal base for creative cocktails.
