In keeping with this, the rum bears the name Ariki, which refers to a supreme chief and symbolizes prestige and authority. The base of Ariki Black Rhum is the locally harvested, sweet juice of Otahiti sugarcane, which is distilled in a column still after fermentation. The rum then matures in ex-bourbon barrels in Tahiti's tropical climate, where modern technology is combined with traditional, artisanal distillation techniques. On the nose, it unfolds captivating aromas of intense sugarcane, accompanied by a pleasant lightness. On the palate, Ariki Black Rhum presents itself as clear and full-bodied, with harmonious notes and a subtle hint of oak wood that gives the distillate depth and elegance.
