Since 1946, the Mascaró family, based in Vilafranca des Penedès, Spain, has dedicated itself to producing high-quality brandy, cava, and wine at its distillery. They oversee the quality of all their products from the vineyard to bottling. Therefore, the wines are specifically crafted for distillation. The grape variety used in the 2006 vintage brandy is Parellada, a typical grape from the estate's region. These grapes have a low alcohol content and high acidity, both excellent qualities for wines distilled into brandy. This orange liqueur has been produced since 1946 according to the original recipe of Narciso Mascaró, founder of the Mascaró brand. His primary goal was to preserve the essence of this Mediterranean fruit and, through a careful distillation process, to capture its finest and most delicate flavor notes. This rich, vibrant, yet velvety-smooth exquisite liqueur is produced with great care and attention.

The distillate for this spirit is called "Marc," produced in Catalonia, while "Orujo" is produced in the rest of Spain by distilling pressed grape pomace. The skins of the various grape varieties contain concentrated aromas, and the distillation process yields a spirit that captures all of these flavors. The distillate matures for at least six years in French Limousin oak barrels. Mascaró Marc Orujo presents itself in a pure and bright golden-yellow color with pale green highlights. The nose offers intense aromas with hints of white fruit, spices, and nuts in the background. On the palate, it is dry and smooth with creamy notes and a touch of wood.
