Cocktail Bitters
Bitters are spirits made from a combination of aromatic herbs, spices, fruits, seeds, oils and alcohol. In the USA, this category of spirits has a very long tradition. When the first settlers arrived in America in the 18th century, there were very few doctors practising there in a professional capacity. At that time, bitters were regarded more as medicine than as a spirit. Over generations, these bitters recipes were passed down orally, and many of them were recorded by doctors and pharmacists and subsequently published in books.

The Bitter Truth Bogarts Bitters 0.35L -GB-
The Bitter Truth spent over 10 years perfecting their Bogart's Bitters. The name likely originates from a typo in the very first cocktail book in 1862 – by Jerry Thomas, a renowned 19th-century bartender, who actually meant "Boker's Bitters." The Bitter Truth Bogart's Bitters are a faithful recreation of this legendary cocktail ingredient. The Bitter Truth were incredibly fortunate to find an original bottle that not only contained a small amount of authentic liquid but also boasted a remarkably well-preserved label. This allowed them to recreate not only the contents but also the appearance of the original bottle, replicating it almost down to the smallest detail and crafting it specifically for Bogart's Bitters. These bitters combine a wonderful blend of dark spices with chocolatey coffee and European herbs. Their dark color evokes the early years of bartending tradition when aromatic bitters were the crucial ingredient for a sophisticated alcoholic refreshment – the cocktail.
