La Mentheuse
La Mentheuse is the result of a shared passion among three friends from the Languedoc: Lionel and Dominique Albano, and Frédéric Bion. These friends, who come from the world of wine and gastronomy, wanted to create a light, refreshing and locally sourced spirit that would appeal not only to lovers of full-bodied liqueurs, but also to gourmets and gourmands. In April 2018, following many months of research and development in collaboration with a distillery specialising in wine-based spirits in Occitanie, La Mentheuse was born – a crème de menthe with no additives, a lower alcohol content and a more moderate sugar content, designed to perfectly showcase the natural flavours of three varieties of mint.
This innovative digestif bears the Sud de France label, which stands for quality and origin from the Occitanie region. La Mentheuse captivates with its freshness and lightness, making it an ideal accompaniment to fine meals and convivial gatherings. Its complementary counterpart, Crème de Citron, was also developed following a long maturation process and rounds off the range.
Alongside La Mentheuse, there is also La Pulpeuse (a variant with citrus notes) and the latest creation, La Croqueuse, in which apple takes centre stage – a real highlight for summer evenings in Occitanie. Together, these three products form an elegant trio of lighter digestifs that capture the French art of living and the art of savouring one’s meal.
All these creations are made from 100% ingredients sourced from the Sud de France region, which underlines their authenticity and regional character.
