For this anniversary rum, distillates of varying ages, from 5 to 12 years, and matured in a variety of exceptional casks, including Armagnac, Cognac, Calvados, Tokaji, and Sauternes, were blended. The result is a rum that perfectly balances fruity, nutty, and spicy notes. It reveals classic Antigua aromas such as butterscotch, toffee, and vanilla crème brûlée. Further on, notes of bright red apples and pears unfold, accompanied by a spicy bouquet of nutmeg, cinnamon, cashews, raisins, and figs. English Harbour decided to experiment with aging molasses rum in uncharred barrels. After a gentle maturation period of eight years in Antigua's tropical climate, the result proved to be a jewel of purity. English Harbour was speechless at the spirit's aromas, integrity, and elegance, and decided to bottle the rum directly from the barrel, without blending, in a limited edition. On the nose, Coeur De Savalle reveals a bouquet of fruits and honey notes reminiscent of candied apples and lightly caramelized butter popcorn. These are followed by creamy notes of white chocolate, and then tropical fruits such as banana and pineapple. On the palate, it is surprisingly smooth, interesting, and very well-integrated, with similar notes to those on the nose. Caramelized corn notes emerge, slightly darker than on the nose, followed by an intense explosion of flavors, along with caramelized pineapple and banana notes. Its finish remains pleasantly warm, with the white chocolate notes from the nose returning, accompanied by a light touch of toasted coconut.

English Harbour High Congener Series 2nd Release 2014/2023 Limited Edition from the Antigua Distillery was created specifically for Haromex's 30th anniversary. This nearly 10-year-old rum (distilled in 2014, bottled in 2023) impresses with its deep amber color and presents a very interesting nose, revealing a wide range of rums that harmoniously blended during its maturation. It surprises with notes reminiscent of sage and a touch of paprika, as well as spices. Aromas of rich brown sugar, hay, cashews, raisins, and spices such as cloves and cinnamon emerge. These are followed by fruity accents of figs, dates, and red apples, rounded off by spicy nuances of licorice and black pepper. This premium Caribbean rum from the Antigua Distillery is based on the popular English Harbour 5YO Rum and is produced individually in small batches (in this case, Batch No. 3) in a limited edition. After careful, continuous distillation in copper stills, it matured for 5 years in carefully selected American ex-bourbon barrels. This delicious rum was then transferred to former Oloroso sherry casks from Spain to achieve its superb cask finish of 3-5 months. All of this is done without chill filtration and without the addition of artificial colors or flavors. On the nose, it is inviting without being overpowering. Beautiful aromas full of dried fruits and nutty notes of almond and marzipan emerge, followed by subtle pine needle notes. These open up to a whole range of different dried fruits, from apricots and sultanas to dried orange peel. Its finish is balanced with a lingering raisin character. Goes very well with Stilton cheese and walnuts.
