English Harbour High Congener Series 2nd Release 2014/2023 Limited Edition from the Antigua Distillery was created specifically for Haromex's 30th anniversary. This nearly 10-year-old rum (distilled in 2014, bottled in 2023) impresses with its deep amber color and presents a very interesting nose, revealing a wide range of rums that harmoniously blended during its maturation. It surprises with notes reminiscent of sage and a touch of paprika, as well as spices. Aromas of rich brown sugar, hay, cashews, raisins, and spices such as cloves and cinnamon emerge. These are followed by fruity accents of figs, dates, and red apples, rounded off by spicy nuances of licorice and black pepper. A drop of water releases further aromas, such as dark chocolate and coffee. Similar to the nose, the palate detects flavors of black cherries and plums. Recurring notes of raisins and cloves also emerge. The finish brings with it a wonderful hint of cigar box, tobacco and leather.
