This 5-year-old rum is refined through maturation in old Royal O'Porto port wine casks. Depending on the result, older rums may be added to the blend to further enhance complexity and highlight the unique profile of this Antigua rum. It is produced in small batches, guaranteeing a limited edition. Each bottle and each batch is numbered. Thanks to the master distiller's meticulous cask selection, each batch exhibits individual characteristics. In the glass, it presents a warm amber color with delicate pink highlights. The nose initially reveals nuances of dried fruits and plums, followed by almond notes. These evolve into hints of dried citrus peel, ginger, and black pepper, culminating in subtle tobacco notes. On the palate, warm ginger flavors emerge first, accompanied by a touch of leather, freshly ground black pepper, wild berries, and rounded off with nuances of tobacco leaves. A truly special treat neat – ideal when paired with fine dark chocolate.
