Dalva Tawny Colheita Port 2001 celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Alto Douro wine region's inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List as a Living Cultural Landscape. This special port wine dates back to the exact year the Douro region received this recognition. A Tawny Port from the single 2000/2001 vintage, which yielded grapes of exceptional quality, the musts exhibiting structure and elegance, it matured for 21 long years in select wooden casks until its bottling in 2022. This exceptional port was crafted from a blend of traditional grape varieties such as Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Franca, and produced using the traditional port wine method. Colheita Tawny Port 2001/2022 displays an intense, light amber color and delights the nose with complexity, a result of the aging process and development in the wooden cask. A hint of spices and roasted caramel emerges, accompanied by waxy balsamic notes and a light touch of menthol. Creamy and rich on the palate, it reveals an impressive freshness and balance.
