Aikan Whisky Fine Rum Barrels is a blended whisky made from pot still distilled malt and column still distilled grain whisky, matured for at least three years in oak casks in Scotland, followed by a further year in Martinique. Rich on the nose, it opens with notes of vanilla, floral, malty, and fruity aromas that fade after a few minutes, leaving behind delicate pastry notes. These are followed by aromas of orange blossom, crème brûlée, apricot flan, banana, and toasted almonds, with a delightful hint of raw cane sugar and exotic notes of papaya and mango. All of this is underscored by subtle woody and spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. On the palate, it is soft and elegant, with fruity notes reminiscent of the nose. Even more gourmet touches emerge, with notes of sugarcane, pecans, hazelnut chocolate, and pepper, accompanied by a slightly fresh and minty herbal note. The finish is long and pleasurable, with subtle woody notes of ginger, caramel, vanilla, coconut, baked apple, and sweet spices. The ideal whisky to bring whisky and rum lovers together for an aperitif or digestif.
