Aikan French Malt Collection Batch No. 2 is a single malt whisky, initially double-distilled in Lorraine from malted barley in copper pot stills. It was then transported to Martinique to mature for over three years in a variety of carefully selected oak casks in the tropical climate. The nose is opulent, with woody notes and hints of ripe fruit, along with lovely aromas of citrus and acacia honey. The malted barley becomes more pronounced and vibrant, and the tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple, quince, and bergamot intensify. Finally, subtle spicy and chocolatey notes emerge. On the palate, it is rich and elegant, echoing the fruity and spicy malty notes from the nose. Its rich texture enhances its beautiful roasted aromas, underscored by vanilla and caramel notes, as well as hints of chocolate, flambéed pineapple, almond, and nutmeg. Its finish is long and slightly dry. Aikan Whisky French Malt Collection Batch No. 2 is an original, a very fruity and delicious single malt with malty, fruity, and woody notes of rare intensity!
