An Albert Michler rum from the renowned Uitvlugt Distillery in Guyana, crafted from the finest molasses derived from locally grown sugarcane. Distilled in a classic pot still in 1998, the distillate was then transferred to single cask number 85 for its first ten-year maturation in the tropical climate with its high humidity. In 2008, the rum was shipped to England and transferred to rum casks for further continental maturation. After a total of 24 years of aging, this Albert Michler Single Cask Collection Rum Guyana 1998/2022 Cask No. 85 was bottled in Scotland in 2022 in a limited edition of just 148 bottles, without the addition of any coloring. The nose reveals pronounced wood notes, accompanied by browned caramel, salted peanuts, and subtle spice hints from the cask aging, identifying it as a characterful Demerara rum. On the palate, a rich interplay of oak, vanilla, and caramel unfolds, culminating in a slightly sweet fudge-like impression. Best enjoyed neat in a slightly warmed glass, this rum is for discerning connoisseurs.
