Arcane Extraroma Rhum Vieux is distilled from pure sugarcane juice on the island of Mauritius. After a traditional fermentation of approximately 30 hours, the fermented juice is processed in a column still. The rum then matures for 36 months in French and American oak barrels, with each type of wood imparting its individual influence on structure, depth, and aroma. The final blend is rounded off with sugar, wood extract, and caramel, and then brought to drinking strength. In the glass, the rum displays a warm golden hue with mahogany highlights. The nose reveals aromas of brown sugar, vanilla, caramelized ginger, and fresh sugarcane. On the palate, a complex texture unfolds with hints of pepper, cinnamon, tropical fruits, and an elegantly integrated oak note. The finish is long, aromatic, and characterized by a fresh, slightly spicy presence. Arcane Extraroma is excellent for enjoying neat and also showcases its full class as a sophisticated base for classic rum cocktails. A multifaceted rum with exotic origins and careful aging.
