B-A-R J? is the first pastis from Burgundy, produced at the Clos Saint Joseph distillery, a young family business founded in 2014 in the town of Mersault by Charles-Guillaume and Blandine Simon with their five children. B-A-R J? Pastis was created during the first lockdown after more than three years of research. It is based on a Clos Saint Joseph distillery recipe that harmoniously combines a perfect blend of star anise, green anise, and licorice with 35 other botanicals, including juniper, vanilla, and coriander berries. A distinctive feature is that B-A-R J? is an ethically and fairly traded pastis. Partnerships have been established with fair trade companies, such as those sourcing star anise from Cambodia, Bourbon vanilla, and peppers from Madagascar. B-A-R J? Pastis offers a well-balanced flavor profile with great freshness and incredible aromatic complexity. It exudes beautiful anise notes, enhanced by delicate herbal and vanilla notes, and comes in a glossy cream color. It is recommended to enjoy it diluted with water as an aperitif.
