Nägelesbirne is a hand-distilled, single-varietal organic brandy from the Bayer & Bayer organic distillery in Witzigmänn on Lake Constance, just outside Lindau. This family-run distillery places particular emphasis on cultivating old and rare fruit varieties native to the Lake Constance region. This ensures both the diversity of varieties and the rich flavor profiles of their distillates. By continuously replacing and replanting different varieties, they are committed to the sustainable biodiversity of the Bayer orchards. Every step of the production process – from harvesting to bottling – is done entirely by hand. This delicious distillate owes its complex and full-bodied pear aroma to an old perry pear variety native to the Lake Constance area. Few fruit trees of this variety remain in the region, and these are the ones used in this brandy. The result is a full-bodied and wonderfully pear-scented brandy that unfolds its intense aromas on the palate. A perfect description of the natural environment of a traditional orchard, based on taste.
