Blandy's Madeira Verdelho Colheita Single Harvest 2008 comes from one of Madeira's most traditional family wineries, which have shaped the island's winemaking for over 200 years. The Verdelho grape variety was once the most widely cultivated in Madeira and is still considered ideal for producing elegant, off-dry Madeira wines with freshness and structure. This Colheita was made exclusively from the 2008 harvest and aged for ten years in the traditional Canteiro system in used American oak barrels. The natural temperature fluctuations during barrel aging give the wine its depth, complexity, and balanced freshness. In the glass, it shines with a topaz color and golden reflections. The nose reveals intense aromas of candied citrus fruits, dried apricots, and delicate mineral notes. On the palate, it is off-dry, lively, and saline-spicy with a hint of chutney in the long, fruity finish. Served at 14°C, it pairs perfectly with creamy appetizers, soups or exotic fruits - an elegant Madeira for special occasions.
