Loimu Glögg – Arctic nature, Nordic indulgence: Discover mulled wines with a unique taste and a tradition of high quality!
Loimu Glögg 2024
Loimu is a premium mulled wine brand from Lignell & Piispanen, a Finnish family business steeped in tradition, founded in 1852 by Gustav Ranin in Kuopio, a small town in eastern Finland. Since then, the company has made a name for itself for its excellent quality and craftsmanship.
It all began 172 years ago now, when Gustav Ranin decided to buy the old royal grain distillery of the Swedish King Gustav III and, in doing so, founded a family business. At the same time, Gustav also began importing premium whiskies and cognacs. Ever since, passing know-how down from one generation to the next, combined with relentless craftsmanship and deep respect for arctic nature, has brought the company success and considerable international recognition.
Now in its sixth generation, Lignell & Piispanen is known for its innovation and commitment to the highest quality in producing its various spirits. The company combines traditional production methods with modern techniques to create products that are both classic and contemporary. All ingredients are carefully selected, often sourced from Finland's untouched nature, and production takes place under the strictest quality controls. Alongside its extensive range of spirits, the house's own vodkas and liqueurs deserve special mention.
Today, however, we'd like to focus on the Loimu Glöggs from Lignell & Piispanen. Loimu Glöggs stand out for their premium ingredients and distinctive flavor. They were specially developed to capture the festive spirit of the Christmas season and to serve as a delicious alternative to the usual mulled wines found on the market. The base for Loimu Glöggs is made from selected wines, enhanced with a blend of spices and fruits from arctic nature. First, there's the Loimu Vintage Glögg 2024. A new vintage Glögg is released every year with a fresh label design and a new bottle color. Alongside that, we have the Loimu Premium Non-Alcoholic Glögg in its luxurious gold-colored bottle, created in honor of Lignell & Piispanen's 170th anniversary. Next comes the Loimu Glögi White: a year-round Glögg made from white wine with delicate aromas of hand-picked arctic blackberries and gathered spruce tips. And the Loimu Glüh Gin Liqueur combines the refreshing taste of apples with the distinctive Gustav Metsä Gin, rounded out with traditional Christmas spices.
