This dark rum takes its name from the Falconet cannons dating back to 1526, which proved highly effective in strategic broadside battles, such as the Midnight Battle of Matanzas Bay in 1628. Bombarda Falconet 8YO Dark Rum is aged for 8 to 15 years in various cask types, including white oak and ex-bourbon barrels. The masterful blend combines the aromas of sweet and smooth Latin American rums from the ports of Panama and the Dominican Republic with English-style rums from Trinidad and pot-still rums from Guyana. The successful combination of origin and age creates depth and complexity. An all-natural dark rum with a wild and charismatic character, presented in a golden hue. The nose and palate detect aromas of kiwi, green plantain, and sarsaparilla. Transitioning into a silky, dry, medium- to full-bodied finish with a warming, complex aftertaste of pineapple, tamarind, allspice, and a hint of toasted brioche with cinnamon and sugar.
