Rum from Haiti is particularly special, as the country has been repeatedly struck by natural disasters, which have had a lasting impact on rum production. This exclusive Reserve Rum of Haiti was distilled in 2004 by Société du Rhum Barbancourt, Haiti's leading producer, in a double wooden still. It then matured for six years in used American oak barrels to preserve its characteristic island aromas. In 2010, the spirit was transferred to Bristol Spirits in England, where it matured for a further six years in American oak barrels in cool cellars at a constant temperature, further refining its existing flavor profile. In 2016, the Reserve Rum of Haiti was chill-filtered and bottled. It presents itself in a light golden color and displays a classic, elegant rum style. Soft and fruity on the nose, it impresses on the palate with a beautiful balance of fruit and wood notes, harmonious and rounded overall.
