Cartavio XO 18YO is a long-aged, elegant, top-class rum that will delight collectors. It is produced by the Cartavio Rum Company in Peru, South America. The climatic conditions there are ideal for growing sugarcane and thus for producing premium rums. Cartavio XO 18YO is a blend of high-quality aged rums, matured using the Solera-Criadera method. After its careful distillation, this rum matured for 18 long years in American, French, and Slovenian oak barrels, which imparted its wonderful oak notes. It shines with an attractive, deep mahogany color. On the nose, it is complex and refined, strong and sweet at the same time, characterized by beautifully interwoven, intense aromas of spices, nuts, vanilla, and chocolate, as well as wonderful oak notes. On the palate, the aromas from the nose are echoed, presenting themselves as very smooth and flavorful, offering an exceptional texture and leading into a pleasantly long finish.
