Distillery J. Faria, located in Porto Da Cruz on the island of Madeira, produces this unique L'Arbre du Voyageur Vieux Rum from pure, fresh sugarcane juice. Chantal Comte chose a new destination this time, far from the Antilles: the island of Madeira. A subtropical island where the Roxa variety of sugarcane is cultivated on only 150 hectares. Under the influence of the warm sun, the cold sea, and the iodine-rich winds, this magnificent spirit was created. It was aged half in terracotta amphorae (made in Tuscany) and half in red ex-Cognac casks. Chantal Comte L'Arbre du Voyageur Vieux displays a transparent golden-brown color, rich in glycerin. On the nose, it is virile and complex with sweet spices, blond tobacco leaves, and notes of golden brioche. Structure, complexity, and power characterize this aged rum. With its subtle woodiness, it reveals its spicy character. The elegance and finesse of the tannins also play a role. Its long, lingering finish exudes a great complexity of spices and citrus fruits. A true gem! Dark chocolate pairs perfectly with this rum.
