This Coruba Matusalem Rum, with its strong Jamaican roots, is one of two Millennium Edition bottlings from the Swiss Compagnie Rhumière de Bâle. Distilled in 2000, this exceptional rum then matured for many years in carefully selected oak barrels under Jamaica's tropical climate. This extended aging process imparts depth, structure, and a distinctive character. After its primary maturation, the rum was transported to Basel, Switzerland, where it received its final finish in a former Oloroso sherry cask from González Byass. This cask further refined the rum, lending it an elegant, sherry-influenced aroma. The full-bodied Vintage Matusalem is exceptionally expressive on the nose and palate, with intense notes of vanilla, warm spices, dates, and ripe dried fruit. The single cask bottling preserves the authentic character of this rum and is aimed at connoisseurs who appreciate a mature, complex and unadulterated rum and enjoy it best neat.
