Coruba Rum 2000 is an exceptionally successful premium millennium edition with distinct Jamaican roots, released by Compagnie Rhumière de Bâle in Switzerland. Distilled in 2000, this exclusive rum initially matured for many years in carefully selected oak barrels under Jamaica's tropical climate, characterized by warmth and intense sunshine. This extended maturation period imparted the rum with its depth, strength, and distinctive style. It was then transported to Basel, where it received a further finish of approximately 18 months in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks from Gonzalez Byass. This refinement adds further complexity and an elegant, sweet-spicy note. The strictly limited single-cask bottling impressively expresses the authentic character of this vintage. On the nose and palate, this rum displays a complex aroma with delicate notes of raisins and wood, accompanied by leather, tropical fruits, and a vibrant, peppery spice. A characterful vintage rum, it is excellent enjoyed neat, but also unfolds its unique personality in sophisticated cocktails.
