Towards the end of the 19th century, a merchant from Basel landed in Jamaica by ship and discovered a distillate called rum. He returned to Switzerland with some samples and in 1889 founded the Compagnie Rhumière de Bâle – the Basel Rum Company. The Coruba brand, which to this day stands for rum with tradition and origin, was created from the initial letters of this name. This Coruba White Punch Rum is gently distilled in small pot stills and then matures in oak barrels in Jamaica's tropical climate, where it develops its typical Jamaican aromas and characteristic style. The distillate is then transported to Basel, where it is bottled with great care. The result is an authentic rum that combines Jamaican expressiveness with Swiss precision. On the nose, it reveals light notes of fresh citrus fruits, coconut, and apple, accompanied by a delicate hint of dried fruit. On the palate, this interplay of flavors continues in a balanced and clear manner. Coruba White Punch Rum is ideal for classic cocktails and long drinks, but also impresses neat or on ice with its fresh, harmonious character.
