El Dorado Port Mourant Rum is distilled in a historic double wooden pot still, originally built in 1732 on the Port Mourant Estate. The 2018 limited edition El Dorado Port Mourant Ruby Port Special Cask Finish 2000 matured for 13 long years in bourbon barrels and then for a further five years in French oak port casks that previously held Ruby Port wines from a single quinta in the Porto region of the Douro Valley in Portugal. This extended maturation process, combined with the Ruby Port Special Cask Finish, results in a magnificent and highly aromatic rum, presented in the classic El Dorado rum bottle with a beautiful golden amber hue. The nose is greeted with robust peat aromas of dark chocolate and spices, while the palate is full-bodied and intense with enticing notes of toffee, spice, and a hint of cherry.
