El Dorado Single Still Port Mourant 2009 0.7L

Product information "El Dorado Single Still Port Mourant 2009 0.7L"

Demerara Distillers, based in Guyana, South America, have released three superb single still rums, distilled in 2009 in various antique pot stills. They are a consortium of old, venerable distilleries in Guyana, each producing a different style of rum. This El Dorado Single Still Port Mourant 2009 was produced in the historic Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still, the oldest and only one of its kind still in operation. It was originally built on the Port Mourant Estate, established in 1732; later moved to the Uitvlugt Estate and then, in 2000, to the Diamond Estate. Since then, this renowned Double Wooden Pot Still has produced small batches of El Dorado Heritage Rums. This delicious rum is made with premium sugarcane molasses. After distillation, it was aged for twelve years in ex-bourbon barrels before being bottled in a limited edition without chill filtration. A full-bodied, well-balanced Demerara rum, robust and aromatic, with lovely notes of sweet baked apples, underscored by hints of vanilla, cinnamon, flambéed banana, and coconut. Slightly smoky notes also emerge.
