Based on a high-quality wheat distillate, these ingredients are individually distilled using the time-honored column still method to precisely and clearly extract their aromas. Unlike Elg No. 1, Elg No. 3 has a significantly higher alcohol content and is bottled as a classic Navy Strength Gin. This term dates back to the 19th century when the British Royal Navy used gunpowder to test the strength of spirits. Due to its higher alcohol content, Elg No. 3 has a considerably higher concentration of essential oils and is therefore more intense and powerful than Elg No. 1. On the palate, a distinctive, clear juniper character dominates. A fresh citrus note adds vibrancy, while the Danish carrots lend the gin a pleasant mouthfeel and a delicate, natural sweetness.
