Based on a high-quality wheat distillate, these ingredients are individually distilled using the time-honored column still method to precisely extract their aromas. Unlike Elg No. 1, Elg No. 3 has a significantly higher strength and is bottled as a classic Navy Strength Gin. This term dates back to the 19th century when British sailors in the Royal Navy used gunpowder to test the strength of spirits. Only if the alcohol was strong enough could the powder be ignited. Due to this higher concentration, Elg No. 3 has a considerably higher proportion of essential oils and presents itself as even more intense and expressive than Elg No. 1. On the palate, a powerful, clear juniper character dominates. A fresh citrus note adds vibrancy, while the Danish carrots create a pleasant mouthfeel and contribute a delicate, natural sweetness.
