After more than a year of experimenting with Norwegian berries and other botanicals to find the perfect recipe, Det Norske Brenneri finally launched its first craft gin in 2015. The exquisite Harahorn Gin is made with herbs and berries from land and sea, including juniper berries, blueberries, rhubarb, bladderwrack, angelica root, and oregano. To maintain complete control over the quality of this small-batch gin, only 400 liters are produced at a time. The name Harahorn Gin comes from a mountain in Hemsedal. It was inspired by the Norwegian mythical creature of the same name, a hare with antlers, which also adorns the Harahorn Gin bottle and which no human has ever seen. This unique gin has a wonderfully clear color and an incredibly pure aroma of juniper and citrus fruits. The palate is treated to fresh and clean flavor nuances of juniper, fruit, and spice. Harahorn Gin combines the taste of Norway with a touch of folklore.
