This floral Hernö Botany Bay Dry Gin is a tribute to the renowned Swedish botanist Dr. Daniel Solander and the place where he first set foot Down Under: Botany Bay. Of the many places around the world Solander visited, none inspired him more than Australia. There, Solander discovered an overwhelming diversity of strange and unusual plants and botanicals. This, along with Solander's respect for ancient Indigenous culture and its role in preserving Australia's natural environment, inspired Jon Hillgren, 250 years later, to follow in the Swedish botanist's footsteps and, together with the Australian Four Pillars Distillery, create a limited-edition Swedish gin with an exquisite Australian twist. The nose detects sweet citrus notes, orange, fresh eucalyptus, and intense hints of crispbread and juniper berries. On the palate, juniper takes center stage, underpinned by candied citrus fruits and eucalyptus, along with hints of a floral, peppery note from delicate Tasmanian pink peppercorns. The finish is nutty with lovely notes of chocolate, accompanied by lemon and deep blue juniper berries.
