Kasama is a charismatic small-batch rum from the Philippines, produced in a distillery founded by Alexandra Dorda. Alexandra is originally from Poland, where her family owns the world-famous Chopin Vodka distillery. Alexandra founded Kasama to honor the rum-making tradition of the Philippines, her mother's homeland. Kasama 7 Year Old Small Batch Rum is a golden rum made from freshly pressed, premium sugarcane juice and distilled in a copper column still. It then matures for seven years in carefully selected ex-bourbon barrels, with the warm and humid tropical climate accelerating the aging process. Kasama resembles the "Spanish rum style" and reveals a light, pleasant flavor. On the nose, beautiful aromas of butterscotch, vanilla, and chocolate develop, followed by bright citrus and refreshing tropical fruits. The palate offers notes of sweet pineapple underscored with a hint of vanilla and a light touch of sea salt. A hint of pepper becomes noticeable in the long finish.
