This unique and strictly limited-edition malt whisky was specially selected for the Lebensstern Bar at Café Einstein in Berlin. It is a batch of heavily peated distilling malt purchased from a renowned distillery in Scotland in 1988 and subsequently distilled in Germany. After maturing in Scottish oak casks, followed by a sherry cask finish and many years of tank storage, this whisky, now 32 years after distillation, is being released under the Lebensstern label in 2021. The Lebensstern 32YO German Malt Whisky dominates the nose with wonderful aromas of dark fruits and pine, underscored by light, fresh sherry notes. On the palate, it is elegant, pleasantly smooth, and spicy with subtle oak flavors. The finish is long and lingering, initially spicy, but then developing sweet, almost honey-like notes.
