The Clos Saint Joseph distillery in Mersault was founded by Charles-Guillaume and Blandine Simon in 2014. It originated from a wine merchant's business established in 1840, which had lain dormant for approximately 50 years. After a lengthy period of renovation and development, the family business was able to begin producing high-quality spirits. Five product lines have since been created. Cuvée Marc'? is a Pinot Noir pomace brandy made exclusively from a single grape harvest in the Côte de Beaune region. After gentle fermentation, this premium spirit underwent triple distillation. It was then carefully aged and refined for five years in 225-liter Moscatel casks from Portugal, which greatly enhanced the fruity flavor profile of the distillate. Bottled from this single cask at full cask strength, it is a strictly limited edition of 400 bottles. On the nose and palate, this L'Ô D'ICY Marc'? Eau de Vie de Raisin exudes wonderfully intense notes of fruity raisins and candied fruits, enhanced and underscored with delicious notes of gingerbread. Overall, very intense and delicious.
