In the Antilles, particularly on Guadeloupe, there is an ancient tradition – that of the fighting cock. The victor of these fights, the cock with the greatest courage and fighting spirit, bears the title "Zenga" cock. The name of this cuvée, as well as the bottle label, is a tribute to this tradition. Montebello Cuvée Zenga Vieux Agricole 6 Years Old is an exquisite Rhum Agricole, made from a blend of aged rums from different vintages, all matured for over six years in select oak barrels. This extended aging process shaped the character of the Zenga Vieux 6YO and gave it its unique flavor profile. Distilled in August 2013 and bottled in October 2020, this deep golden cuvée displays the same power and vigor as the "Zenga" cock and is guaranteed to capture the attention of connoisseurs. On the nose, a delicate, fruity, and sweet interplay of aromas unfolds, accompanied by smoky notes of sugar cane and tobacco, as well as a subtle acidity reminiscent of passion fruit. On the palate, it presents itself as powerful yet smooth, with fine smoky notes that lead into a balanced finish, accompanied by nuances of passion fruit and vanilla.
