The Poisson distillery, located on the small Caribbean island of Marie-Galante south of Guadeloupe, is the island's oldest distillery and producer of the renowned Père Labat rums. To this day, traditional artisanal production techniques are maintained there, combining historic stills with modern column still systems. The crystal-clear Père Labat Clos Parcellaire Les Mangles differs significantly from its smaller sibling, presenting itself as a powerful overproof rum. It is made from the finest sugarcane, sourced exclusively from a single plot with exceptionally rich terroir. On the palate, it is full-bodied and highly aromatic, yet surprisingly balanced with a pleasantly restrained bite. The slow fermentation process results in an intense, finely integrated alcohol note on the nose, accompanied by tropical fruits and fresh citrus accents. On the palate, a floral, slightly woody explosion with a hint of forest unfolds, leading into a long, lingering finish.
