Product information "Pere Labat Rhum Vieux Black Opus Millesime 2009 0.7L -GB-"

Père Labat Black Opus Millésime 2009 is a limited-edition cuvée from the world-renowned Poisson Distillery on the small Caribbean island of Marie-Galante. The base for this agricultural rum (Rhum Agricole) is pure sugarcane juice extracted from the finest sugarcane grown in the Marie-Galante region. Distillation took place in 2009 in a Creole column still using the traditional method developed by the missionary Jean Baptiste Labat, also known as Père Labat, for whom this rum is named. After eight years of aging in American ex-bourbon barrels, the cellar master decided to further age the distillate for three years in Cognac casks that had undergone three different heating processes. This imparts the rum with its unique aromatic and complex flavor profile. Delicate sweetness and floral vanilla, paired with notes of light wood, greet the nose. On the palate, Père Labat Rhum Vieux Black Opus Millesime 2009 reveals a feeling of lightness and sweet aromas. Beautifully balanced notes of pear, caramel, vanilla, and raisins create a pleasant flavor profile with a long finish. A limited edition of only 3,024 numbered bottles was produced.
