Père Labat Rhum was originally produced at the Père Labat Distillery, now Destillerie Poisson, located on the small Caribbean island of Marie-Galante, part of the French Antilles. The distillery sits on a sprawling estate of over 525 hectares, surrounded by sugarcane plantations. This unique Rhum Vieux Poseidon Millesime was distilled in 2007 in a Creole column still—one of the oldest stills in the Caribbean—using the traditional method developed by the missionary Jean Baptiste Labat, also known as Père Labat, the namesake of the Père Labat brand. After distillation, the rum was transferred to ex-bourbon barrels to mature for 15 long years before its limited-edition bottling. This extended aging process imparts the rum with its unique aroma and complexity. It boasts an intense golden hue and offers the nose light and delightful aromas of cigar, orange, vanilla, and plum. On the palate, it is subtle yet rich. A truly distinctive and exceptional rum to savor.
