The base for this exquisite Rhum Vieux Silver Opus Millesime is pure sugarcane juice, extracted from the finest sugarcane grown in the Marie-Galant region, an island in the Guadeloupe archipelago in the Caribbean. Here, the Poisson distillery produces the finest Père Labat rum according to an old tradition dating back to the 17th century. This limited-edition cuvée was gently distilled in 2011 in a Creole column still using the time-honored method developed by the missionary Jean Baptiste Labat – also known as "Père Labat" – the namesake of this rum. After eight years of aging in ex-bourbon barrels, it underwent a further two years of finishing in Grand Cru "White Burgundy" casks. This rum was bottled in a limited edition in 2021. And the result is truly impressive! The beautiful mahogany color of Rhum Vieux Silver Opus Millesime promises the connoisseur exceptional taste pleasure. The nose reveals subtle, refined aromas of fig, vanilla, and cinnamon. On the palate, it is very present and precise, with a hint of fine oak notes from the double aging.
