Pierre Ferrand founded the French cognac house Pierre de Segonzac in the idyllic town of Segonzac, known as the capital of the Grande Champagne region. On the family's seven-hectare vineyard, he cultivates the finest grapes and utilizes distillation techniques honed over ten generations to create unique, exclusive cognacs that truly pack a punch. This particular cognac has matured for many years in the finest oak barrels, a tradition that has been upheld by the Ferrand family since 1702. Pierre de Segonzac Cognac Extra is a unique blend of premium cognacs, aged for an average of 50 years. It boasts a beautiful, warm mahogany color and offers a rich and complex, yet balanced, nose with aromas of plums and candied fruits, vanilla, and cigar boxes, which fully unfold upon aeration. On the palate, warm and slightly oily notes unfold, along with complex wood and earth tones, and aromas of rancio, licorice, candied fruit, and delicate violets. Its finish is exceptionally long.
