The Pierre Ferrand vineyard is located in the heart of France's Grand Champagne region and boasts excellent calcareous soil conditions, enabling the production of the finest cognacs with great aging potential. Pierre Ferrand, founder of the Pierre de Segonzac cognac label, used two traditional copper pot stills for the distillation of this XO Sélection des Anges cognac. This was followed by gentle maturation in fine Limousin oak barrels with a capacity of 400 to 500 liters. This cognac is named after the "Angel's Share" vapors that escaped from the barrel during the aging process. It presents itself in a beautiful dark mahogany color and impresses with the typical aromas of a mature, elegant Grand Champagne Premier Cru cognac. The nose and palate detect wonderfully intense aromas of fig, apricot, jasmine, quince, and walnuts, as well as notes of toasted bread and chocolate. Elegance and finesse are perfectly balanced in the long, lingering finish. Delicious with apple pie and pineapple sorbet or with a tarte tatin topped with vanilla ice cream.
