Gorzelnia Podole Wielkie is one of the few farm distilleries in Europe that produces its spirits entirely according to the estate-to-bottle principle. On the historic estate in Pomerania, the potatoes used for this okowita—as well as all other raw materials—are grown on-site. From the field through distillation to barrel aging, every step of production remains in the hands of the distillery, expressing the authentic character of the terroir. For the Podole Wielkie 5YO Aged Okowita Potato Ex-Bourbon Cask, the Brooke potato variety is used and then aged for five years in ex-bourbon barrels. The result is an exceptional okowita with great depth and elegance. On the nose, delicate notes of vanilla and caramel blend with a subtle spiciness. On the palate, it is smooth and creamy with harmonious hints of sweet grain, oak, and a delicate, natural sweetness that leads to a long and balanced finish. Enjoyed neat, this exceptional bottling reveals its multi-layered aromas in a particularly impressive way and showcases the quality of Polish barrel aging.
